At the occasion of the annual meeting of the CONTICA project, a press conference was organized under the auspices and at the premises of the Presidium of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. A detailed report from the press conference is found here...
Representative journalists of press media including the press agency TASR and SITA received a Press Release and handouts about the CONTICA project and the conference. Moreover, Prof. Pieske and Dr. Zahradnikova provided interviews to many others.
The press conference took the attention of major broadcasting media (state owned Slovak Television 1, private televisions Markiza, JOJ and news channel TA3) that presented the CONTICA project in prime time news, the press media (Pravda), the press agencies TASR and SITA that published detailed reports form the press conference, and of electronic media (web portals: ZZZ, i-NEWS, Zdravie, Webnoviny, Obce, Pravda, Sport, Denne, 24hod, Server, …).
Very important was the invitation of Prof. Pieske and Dr. Zahradnikova to TA3 studio for a live interview, where a space of 22 minutes was provided for explanation of goals and results of the CONTICA project in the context of the 6th Framework Program supported by the European Union.
As the CONTICA coverage included all major media in Slovakia, we estimate the general audience of substantially more than 1 million.
Dr. Zahradnikova presented a lecture for the general public “The cells that propel life” about the importance of heart research in relation to arrhythmias and heart failure and about the CONTICA and EUGeneHeart projects.
Dr. Zahradnikova was a guest in the radio programme “Solarium” (a magazine on science and research) on the Slovak Radio channel 3, where she spoke about the importance of heart research in relation to arrhythmias and heart failure and about the CONTICA and EUGeneHeart projects.
