CONTICA People in GöttingenThe CONTICA researchers at the University Medicine Göttingen work under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Burkert Pieske who has more than 20 years of experience in experimental and clinical cardiovascular research. The CONTICA project is jointly coordinated from Göttingen by Prof. Dr. Burkert Pieske and PD Dr. Jens Kockskämper. The scientists in Göttingen who dedicate all or part of their time to CONTICA share a common interest in cellular pathomechanisms underlying heart failure and arrhythmias. They provide their skills in cellular electrophysiology, intracellular ion measurements (including spatially resolved confocal Ca2+ and Na+ imaging) and molecular biology (genomics, viral gene transfer, DNA/RNA techniques, protein biochemistry). The group is renowned for its contributions to the understanding of the pathomechanisms of myocardial dysfunction in multicellular heart preparations (muscle strips), single cardiac myocytes and human heart failure. Please find below a list of the CONTICA researchers in Göttingen with a link to more details.
